Preppy Soiree Look Book Shoot

Preppy Soiree Look Book Shoot

I had been hoping to share this second look book shoot with you yesterday but life got a little crazy, so today it is. Like I mentioned on Monday, I had the pleasure of styling two different looks for the look book put out by the ladies of the local bridal boutique Something White. The second shoot was “Preppy Soiree,” and was held at The Shoreby Club in Bratenahl. You guys, this venue – holy cow. It’s probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in Cleveland, and if you have the opportunity to check it out, you definitely should. I don’t know much of the history behind it, but it’s like stepping back into time where people got dressed up to go to brunch and sipped brandy outside as the sun set over the lake. It’s truly stunning. It lent perfectly to the preppy-yet-swanky look we were going for. The vendors I paired up with to make this shoot happen were amazing, and it was such an honor to be working in the company of such talented people. (I mean, just look at that absolutely amazing centerpiece from Molly Taylor Designs! Not to mention that seersucker bow on the cake from Hummingbird Bake Shop…) On to the photos, again from Arielle at Arielle Doneson Photography!

It was so much fun to put together the handmade elements for this shoot. The kite is probably my favorite project I’ve ever come up with to date, and you would never know from the photo that the frame snapped as soon as we got outside in the wind, would you? I’m (not so) secretly hoping that someone that’s in the market for a glittery kite loaded with fringe tassels will contact me to make them one. (Anyone? Anyone?) The flowers in the vases were an experiment with coffee filters, and I’m pretty in love with how they turned out. I’m excited to play around with those some more and see what I can come up with. And I just have to give a quick shout out to Ann at Borrow Rentals for suggesting we turn the napkins into shirts once she saw the bow ties I made for them – genius. The power of collaboration!

Another huge thank you to Karin and Rebecca at Something White for asking me to be a part of the look book. Please go check out their shop and support an amazing local business if you’re getting married! You can see some more photos from this shoot here and the look book in it’s entirety here. There’s also a fun behind-the-scenes video that Karin put together that you can check out here!
